Oh so English

There is nothing so English as a visit to a National Trust property! My mum and I always try to go somewhere nice when she visits, and this holiday we went to Mottisfont Abbey. The rose garden was heavenly, we went on a beautiful riverside walk and saw some extremely old and wonderful trees. Top that off with a slice of cake and an elderflower presse and you have a thoroughly English day.

  1. Ooh, that sounds lovely. We have a shortage of NT properties here in Northern Ireland, especially ones with tea shoppes which are the vest bit. Glad you had a nice time x

  2. It was a beautiful, hot summer day so the walk along the river, under the shade of lush trees was very welcome! We saw trout in the shallow, crystal-clear, fast flowing water. Mottisfont is well worth a visit for the garden though the house was....a tad disappointing. Lunch was nice though and Sarah enjoyed her mint-choc ice cream! :-)))
